Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Organise for the transport of farm produce
   • Briefing, hand-over details, authorisation and clearances are received, interpreted and clarified in accordance with organisational procedures and regulations.
   • Equipment and authorised personnel requirements are organised on time according to transportation schedule.
   • Operational delays are minimised through the adherence to schedule specifications.
   • Potential risks and hazards are identified and managed according to the work plan and within organisational procedures and regulations, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and other relevant legislation.
   • Equipment pre-operational checks are performed according to manufacturer's specifications, organisational procedures, regulations, OHS and other relevant legislation.
   • Site environmental concerns are adhered to according to relevant legislation.
2. Load, transport and/or unload farm produce
   • Organisational OHS procedures, practices, policies and precautions are observed and followed.
   • Start-up, park and shutdown procedures for plant and equipment are carried out in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, organisational procedures and regulations.
   • Load is determined in accordance with manufacturer's specifications to prevent damage to equipment or loss of load.
   • Farm produce is loaded and secured in accordance with organisational procedures and regulations, manufacturer's specifications, and OHS and other legislation.
   • Farm produce is transported to specified destination on time, with their condition maintained, in accordance with organisational procedures and regulations, OHS and other relevant legislation.
   • Vehicles follow approved transport routes and speed limits according to organisational procedures and regulations, and manufacturers specifications.
   • Transport of farm produce is carried out ensuring the safety of personnel, the vehicle, other vehicles, equipment, and the surrounding environment.
   • Farm produce or bulk materials are unloaded in accordance with manufacturers specifications, avoiding damage to equipment or personnel.
   • Where required, transport of farm produce is co-ordinated with harvesting machinery.
   • Transport of farm produce is completed to plan within the operating capacity of the equipment.
   • Produce is dispatched and any documentation including weighbills is retained.
3. Protect farm produce quality and integrity
   • Hygiene of all surfaces in contact with farm produce is maintained.
   • Farm produce is protected from loss, contamination, moisture and pests during transport.
   • Farm produce is stored to prevent loss or deterioration, and in line with safe practice.
   • Farm produce storage/holding areas are maintained in a clean condition and any potentially hazardous substances are kept at a safe distance in accordance with industry practice and legislation.
   • Transport environment is monitored using temperature data loggers if applicable.
   • Quality of farm produce is checked at unloading.
   • Batches of farm produce are monitored for isolation and product integrity where applicable.
4. Carry out equipment maintenance
   • Organisational OHS procedures, practices, policies and precautions are observed and followed.
   • Visual inspection and fault finding are conducted in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and organisational requirements.
   • Routine operational servicing is conducted to ensure peak performance of equipment and according to manufacturer's specifications, organisational procedures, regulations, OHS and other relevant legislation
5. Maintain hygiene of equipment
   • Equipment is cleaned in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, organisational procedures and regulations.
   • Attachments and other ancillary equipment are cleaned and stored in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, organisational procedures and regulations.
   • All required records and documentation are completed accurately and promptly in accordance with organisational requirements.
